Alternative Root needs reliable sources of clean organic waste, including wood waste.
We are pleased to announce our new composting operation in Westlock County, Alberta.
The operation will be recycling organic food wastes with vegetative materials to produce Grade A compost for regenerative farming practices. This initiative by Alternative Root will need reliable sources of clean organic waste, including wood waste.

Alternative Root’s composting facility will operate Covered Aerated Static Piles (CASP) on the Westlock Landfill property. We are seeking regional inputs of clean wood wastes. Our initiative is to support regional regenerative agriculture to counteract the historical degradation of our soils. Regenerative farming practices provide farming at its full potential while offering a solution to climate change and a benefit to the regional economy.
